International conference: „Political and Administrative Elites in Europe. Theory and Practice in Historical Perspective”

The international conference is hosted by Charles University in Prague and Masaryk Institute and Archive of the Czech Academy of Science, in collaboration with Babeș-Bolyai University Cluj-Napoca, Faculty of History and Philosophy, within the framework of the project GACR N. 20-19463X: “Social mobility of elites in the Central European regions (1861–1926) and transition of imperial experience and structures in nation-states”.

 

The conference brings together scholars interested in the history of political and administrative elites from early 19th century to 1940s. The keynote lecture is delivered by prof. András Gerő (CEU Budapest), and the four roundtables focus on: parliamentary elites; executive and administrative elites; intellectual elites, nationalism and socialism; digital tools and the study of social mobility.
